BodyGuard Sports Medicine is a comprehensive sports medicine program focused on the treatment and prevention of sports injuries in athletes of all ages. In accordance with the National Athletic Trainers’ Association, our mission is to enhance the quality of health care for athletes and those engaged in physical activity and to advance the profession of athletic training through education and research in the prevention, evaluation, management and rehabilitation of athletic injuries.
BodyGuard Sports Medicine not only provides athletic training to student athletes in eight area schools, but the program also provides our communities access to award-winning wound care services, comprehensive diagnostic and rehabilitative services at both Sumner Regional Medical Center and Sumner Station, and access to some of Tennessee’s finest orthopaedic surgeons at Sumner Regional Medical Center.
The school athletics program of BodyGuard Sports Medicine provides a vital community service to student athletes in five area schools. The schools we serve include:
Athletic training services are provided through a partnership with the Sumner County Board of Education, Macon County Board of Education and the Trousdale County Board of Education and are overseen by Dr. Jeffrie Kindred, D.O., Medical Director of BodyGuard Sports Medicine, and Angela Alexander, Community Outreach Director for HighPoint Health System.
Every BodyGuard athletic trainer has been certified by the National Athletic Trainers’ Association Board of Certification.
